Kay-Sohl-Headshot.jpg

Kay Sohl's training and consulting practice is rooted in my deep belief in the power of nonprofit organizations to transform lives and communities. Her work, initially in the Northwest, and more recently across the country, has allowed her to support the work of thousands of people working together through nonprofit organizations to create the changes they want most for their communities, their regions, and the world.

From organizations rooted in the poorest communities, Kay has learned the power of faith, persistence, and insistence to make change. From land trusts and affordable housing organizations, she has learned the power of using the tools of business and tax planning to fuel realization of inspiring missions. From over 35 years of work with domestic violence and sexual assault organizations, Kay has learned that institutions as well as individuals can and will change when voices are united to insist upon justice.

Kay's work today – providing training and consulting to build sustainable nonprofit organizations – draws upon her own multiple roles within the nonprofit sector, as a founder, a frequent Board member, long tenured executive director, funder, monitor, financial systems designer, and facilitator.

Open for lively discussion, generated great ideas and suggestions that could be implemented in any organization
Your training on systems advocacy was a window to another way of thinking about this work for me

Kay was simply fabulous!.. An amazing retreat - her ability to let us go and reel us in throughout the day and the accuracy of her paraphrasing to record our points
